Eastman Lake ~

We have been wanting to go out with our friends and enjoy the boat for a while now. The weather this summer has been CRAZY, and it was not until the weekend before last that we were able to all get off work and enjoy each others company!! The view of the Lake from our shore sight...

It was ALOT of work to set up a "land area", not to mention bringing lunch out too... not something we will want to do soon again, but it was ALL worth it! Good Times GREAT people!!

iLoveToCreate Focus Group ~

I was invited to enjoy a Focus Group at Matt's work yesterday evening. I went with my friend Amalia, and we REALLY enjoyed it. We got to tell our HONEST thoughts about new product to be released, and we even got to play with the new things. I am not sure if I am able to talk about the products we tested, but I have to tell you I can not WAIT for them to be available to US ALL!!
This was my first Focus Group, and I was glad to be able to participate. They had snacks available too, AND we got a gift for attending and giving our feedback. Besides the THREE cookies I ate I also got THIS:

AND a $20.00 Target Gift Card...

LOVE IT! Can't wait for the next focus group!!

Lil' Kickers ~

Hailey is officially part of The Bunnies team at the Fresno Indoor Soccer School. We signed her up for an 8 week training course and we REALLY hope she loves it. I already love it because it is INDOORS, and because this age group needs a parent to help it BEATS being out in the heat!

Hailey LOVED free play time the best. You get to kick the ball around and just have fun!!

Landon played a little with the kids too. We decided to let Hailey try this year, and maybe let Landon join next year. We think he might enjoy this more than Hailey does.

Here is Hailey at the end with her sucker, and her bunny stamp on her hands. At the beginning of the class the teacher told us not to worry if our kids did not follow direction or do well. "They are 2-3 year olds, do you really expect the to all be able to work together?" he said. Hailey did not cooperate with everything, but she liked the obstacle course and she did that. She also liked making a clown head out of soccer equipment... the teacher said give it a few weeks and they'll want to follow suit... here is to Hailey and her first soccer experience! 

Oh, and I made these bows today... only one is actually a bow, but you know what I mean.

BIG BOY BED

It is OFFICIAL...

We moved the CRIB out of Landon's Room and

he is in his BIG BOY BED.

I told Matt I wanted to move him after he went to Nursery for the first time alone,

this week he LOVED going to Nursery alone, so we knew it was time.

He only got out like 5 times before he realized Daddy and Mommy were just going to put him back in bed and he decided to stay. He stayed in it ALL night, when I went in to wake him up he looked SO sweet. My baby is becoming my BIG BOY!

GOODBYE CRIB, GOODBYE SLEEPING in for mommy... with TWO kids running amok in the morning I just might have to beat them up... it was nice while it lasted...

Honey... wanna play the Laundry Lotto??

I have been looking for a CUTE little couples game for a while, and when I came across this I knew Matt would like it!! I got this idea from searching a friends blog, she had this hyperlink to the blog one day... Laundry Lottery

You can make your own by downloading the pictures if you would like. This is how I made mine...

All you need is some card stock, scissors, paper cutter, and any glue you would like to use...

I got some samples of Aleene's Tacky Glue that I wanted to try out. I used the Quick Dry Tacky Glue.

All I did was cut the card stock how I wanted it, cut out my t-shirts, and started gluing.

I decided to add a little clothes pin to my masterpiece.

The plan is to give your husband the option to play if he would like. You take the card stock paper with the Lucky You on one side and Folding Duty on the other and throw it into the dryer for a few seconds. Let your husband choose when to turn it off and open the dryer to see his fate... If it is LUCKY YOU side up, you owe him whatever it was you promised before starting the game. If it is FOLDING DUTY side up, YOU get help with the Laundry!! Make sure BOTH parties know the rules and agree with them before you play.

Matt has yet to play the Laundry Lottery with me, but I am sure we will be trying it out VERY soon! I thought it would be a cute way to bring a little spark back into our "OLD ~ TIRED ~ PARENTS" relationship!! Happy Birthday Grandpa ~

Matt's parents birthdays are 2 days apart. Mom Bird is "robbing the cradle" by TWO whole days. David Alma Bird's birthday is today, and we have been working on "Happy Birthday" with Hailey and Landon.

Before Matt and I had children we liked to call people on their birthday and sing happy birthday to them as crazy and loud as we could. (My family saves our birthday song wishes on their voice mails to enjoy them over and over) Since we have had kids we have been trying to get them to sing, but they fight it alot, plus Matt and I seem to drown them out when we sing, so this year I have been working with Hailey to sing all by herself. . . you saw what I was able to get for Grandma Bird, here she sang for Grandpa Bird ~

And YES I know Landon is only in a diaper... don't judge me. (or him) It's HOT here in Fresno...

Father's Day Idea ~

Want to make your Husband something he will LOVE ... then my friends take a look at this project. You will need a shirt, and these fabric 3D markers. They are like Puffy Paint only easier! They are from the iLoveToCreate.com family products, and they are so fun to use. I choose the Primary Colors, but they have all kinds of colors to choose from.

Make sure to PRACTICE on something else before you use it on the FINAL Project. AND wash the shirt before you use these markers on it as well.

One of the markers "spilled" out more than I wanted it to. I was able to wipe it off with water and a paper towel with no problem. Just make sure to do it right away, or the color might stay.

This shirt was featured in the Family Fun Magazine, and when my mom showed me the idea, I thought WHY NOT? ~ Matt would be able to use it as a "boat" shirt. (only because I doubt he will wear it much now aside from out on the boat)

We made sure to let it dry overnight.

Just a CUTE idea for the Daddy that has almost everything he could ever want!! I almost put "the boat" on the shirt because that is like Matt's third child at times! hehe

I think it turned out pretty good for a beginning crafter!!

Fireworks ~

We went to see the Fireworks at Buchanan High School this year with Nate and Melissa Imel. We meet our friends Spencer and Lauren Baker there, and we really enjoyed it.

Hailey however has never really liked the whole fireworks thing, but we caught her this year peeking through her hands over her face to see them...

Landon ran right up to Lauren and sat on her lap with his cookies to watch the fireworks. He really enjoyed it. He was saying " WOW and OHHH" It was a great show.

We had a GREAT 4th of July with friends and family.

Thank GOODNESS we are the land of the free!!

Happy Birthday Grandma

I told Hailey I was sending a card to Grandma and Grandpa for their birthdays and asked if she wanted to color it. She started singing "Happy Birthday" all by herself while coloring so this is her singing to Grandma Bird...

BARBIE GALORE!!!

As a child I ALWAYS wanted the BARBIE MANSION...

 ALAS I was child number 2 in a family of 6 children so I was not going to get it...

Luckily for my little girl COUSIN KIMBERLEY got one when she was younger. Now that she is blossoming into a wonderful Young Woman she decided she could let it go to another little girl ...

There is a Barbie Fridge, FULL kitchen, Bathroom with a pull out tub, bed, windowsill, I could go on forever.

It even has an ELEVATOR... yeah, that might be the FAVORITE thing right now...

Along with the Barbie Mansion she got a box full of Barbies and Clothes. A horse, a Vespa and a Barbie Car that plays Cd's from the back... Hailey is SET!
