HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

Can I just tell you...
MY MOM IS THE BEST!!
She had yet another GREAT year, and it is time to celebrate HER!!
I try to think of new ways to say Happy Birthday, and let my parents know I love them. This year I want to express my love to her through her NAME...

L istens to her loved ones with an open heart.
I nspiring on so many levels.
S assy, yet sweet.
A mazingly in tune with the spirit.

S miling almost all the time.
M odest in all things.
I nterested in her kids hobbies and aspirations.
T rue to herself, never worried about what others think. (a problem I tend to have)
H eartfelt, and kind.

A mazing teacher to children.
N oble and humble.
D epentable, and loving grandmother!
E asily engaged in family activities.
R everent at the right times, and SO fun at others.
S ecure in life and love.
E ncouraging and helpful when one might feel lost.
N ever a better hero!

These are just a few of the things I came up with. She is all these things and SO much more. She is the best Grandmother my children could ever have, and loves them unconditionally. She was and is the best mother. She taught me many life lessons, and I was SO grateful when I came home from school I had my mother there to help me with homework, or just to talk to. She has always been strong in her beliefs, never waivering; which helped each of us kids along our path in life. She was loving even when we were not, and she tried her best to show us how to love.
THANK YOU MOM FOR EVERYTHING you have done,
and EVERYTHING YOU WILL DO for us! WE LOVE YOU!!
( all the Andersen Kids with MOMMY and DAD!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to one of the best people I know!!

Back to NORMAL ~

I guess if you consider my life NORMAL that is...
Sickness is GONE. (for now at least, Daddy has a sore throat.)
But it sure is nice to have the Ear Infection medicine kicking in and a half sane mommy in the house.
Just doing Laundry and getting settled in for the short week ahead. We love 3 day weekends!!

Hailey said to me today "What is the matter Alligator?"
To which I said "Oh nothing."
And she said "That's OK Alligator, don't worry... we'll find the crocodile!"
"AHAHAHAHAHAH BAHHHHHHHH!" was my reply.

I think I have said the "See you later Alligator" thing to her in the past, but that was cute.

We are making Macaroni and Cheese. I think this is Hailey's new favorite food. She goes through fazes. I better got let the kids "HELP ME" cook lunch!
I hope you are all in good health and ready for the short week too! :)

Clam Chowder

My mom makes the MOST amazing clam chowder!! It is a family recipe, and when I make it Matt gets SO happy! I was planning on making it Valentine's Day for my sweetheart, but we all know how that day panned out for this family... (see last post) I figured one day late is not too bad! Since I knew Matt would love it, here is the response from the rest of the family...
LANDON Loved it... all THREE bowls he ate of it.
YES, that is Clam Chowder on his forehead.
Hailey took one bite and gave me this face...
I guess 3 out of 4 is not bad! :)

Bird Update ~

So yeah, she did not have pink eye... but I am now convinced she has an ear infection.
I had Landon's Two Year check up appointment the next day, so I called to add Hailey to get checked out too. By the time the apt. came her eye was fine, so I did not want to pay $20.00 for the Dr. to tell me she was fine... so I cancelled her apt. AND she was fine until she started waking up in the middle of the night. I was going to call on Monday to set up an apt. for her because the office is closed on weekends, but then I got sick, and I forgot...
So yeah, I got sick on Valentines Day. I had this WONDERFUL plan set up. We were going to surprise daddy at work with cookies the kids had decorated... but by the time I made the cookie dough and it sat in the fridge for the 3-4 hours it was already too late for the surprise. I SUCK! Then I was going to cook him an AMAZING dinner, but I needed to go grocery shopping to get the stuff to make it. I thought I had enough time to go after Matt got home from work, but I was wrong. I was NOT in the mood to take the kids with me. By the time he got home and we waited for Landon got up from his nap, then we went grocery shopping it was already 6 pm. Yeah, NOT making what is going to take over an hour... I am starving. So our Valentines Dinner consisted of El Pollo Loco. GROSS. Well not gross, but I am NOT a fan...
I am not big on spicy stuff. I ordered the Original Pollo Bowl and my mouth was on FIRE! Luckily for me, Matty let me have his Pollo Salad thing that was not as spicy. They should WARN people, or at least give people like me an option like Mild, Medium, or HOT... but no, so I will not be going there again... E.V.E.R...
ANYWAYS... we gave the kids their Valentines presents, and pulled out the cookie dough I had made earlier... I was rolling out the dough and I started to feel sick...
I think El Pollo Loco gave me food poisoning, but I am not sure. It could just be that my body can't handle that CRAZY SPICY CRAP...
LONG story short... Mommy is still sick today, but not too sick to be able to get out of bed and to the computer like yesterday. I hate when I am sick and I still have to take care of the kids. I had to feed them, rolling out of bed to make cereal was a tough task for me. Then I had to make Macaroni and Cheese for lunch because my daughter was begging for it... thank goodness for daddy getting home from work.
So anyways... here are some pictures from Valentines day! :)
Landon opening his Card from Grandma and Papa Bird... he LOVED it!
Hailey told me a nice story about the girl on her card from Grandma and Papa. Thanks they loved them!
We got him a flying toy. He LOVES it, in fact as I type I am playing with him and this toy. He will bring me a spinner and I will send it off and then he will bring it back again! I hope this means he will take a good nap today!!
Hailey got a My Little Pony, some Princess candies and a little mini balloon. You can see Landon's candies in this picture, he dropped them as soon as he saw the spinner toy! LOL!
And for "Girls Night Out" I made these... You just make brownies, cut out a shape with cookie cutters, and put melted frosting and sprinkles on the top. YUMMMOOOOO! THANKS Chantelle for the recipe!!
They were a HIT at Girls Night, and the kids happened to love them too...
Hailey chewing her Valentine after breakfast. SEE her hair is not ALWAYS done...
and last but not least...
Landon licking his Valentine... we hope you all had a GREAT VALENTINES DAY!!

PS3 EyePet ~

Hailey has been SOOOOOO good with Potty Training, so we decided she deserved a little present...
(NO potty accidents in over a WEEK)
SO, Daddy got her this...
Ever heard of it? WELL... it is an AdOrAbLe game where the kids hatch a pet, then play with it through the PS3 "move" thingy... so THERE... now I don't need to get her a REAL PET... E.V.E.R...
She LOVES her little pet... his name is MONKEY. You can see him in the bottom corner of my little TV in my HUGE Entertainment center. Laugh all you want. I am NOT buying a new TV just because...
She is learning alot with this fun little toy, and it has been HOURS of fun for the kids in the TWO days we have had it! :)

Justin Bieber has LEFT THE BUILDING...

I have been growing out my little mans hair for quite some time now. I was going for the "Justin Bieber look" ... not sure why really, but yesterday I let hubs cut Landon's hair.
And NOW I remember why I let it grow out...
it SPIKES up if it is too short... Landon you have Grandpa Andersen's hair...
It STICKS up and Looks SO cute!! Luck Little Boy!!
And just in case you were forgetting what it used to look like...
YEAH... he needed a hair cut!!

Church Bag ~ PART 1

Since my little girl is FIGHTING going to church... I thought I would let her make a special Church Bag she can take and LOVE to death and POSSIBLY not have as big of a fit going to Primary...
So I headed to the DOLLA HOLLA store and picked up THIS...
Then I headed to my "Craft Boxes" and grabbed out some stuff. I got out my Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint , my Puffy Pens™, my handy dandy  Puffy Paint™, my Little Paint Brushes and a paper plate to help control the mess...
I let her pick out her colors and away she went painting...
She LOVED the Tulip Slick Paint the best, or at least she loved those colors the best.
I just put a little on her plate and let her do the decorating.
Hard at work getting her Crafty Project done...
And she really loved that I let her do it all.
It was a FUN craft for us to do together.
Drumroll PLEASE... dun dun dun DUNNNNNNN... I give you her semi Finished Project...
Now to let it dry and ADD some fun stuff... not sure what we are going to do yet, but I have some ideas...
or
or
the idea's are ENDLESS!!
Check out iLoveToCreate.com for all your CRAFTY needs...
HAPPY CRAFTING!!

What would YOU do??

If it was February and your little girl came running to you wanting to go swimming...
You would throw her in the bath tub RIGHT??
Because that is what I did, and I got THIS sad face...
Which was VERY soon gone once she started playing...
 She is my WATER girl...
(YES, you do see little pieces of paper floating in the water...
thank you Landon for adding to the fun with your coloring paper)
Here she was hopping like a bunny...
Then she was giving me kisses..,
Then she was playing PEEK A BOO...
it STILL amazes me that she loves to play this.
OH what fun it must be to go swimming anytime you want!!
This little Family can't wait for summer to come!!

Disney on Ice ~

OH MY... Can I just tell you that Last Night was one of my FAVORITE nights with the kids!!
We have been talking ALL week long about going to see Toy Story and the Princess' on Ice... the kids were not sure what to think about it because we really have never taken them to anything like this. Well, Landon did go to the Circus, but that is it. So they had NO idea what to expect...
The night started out like this...
BOTH Kids fell asleep on the way to the show...
Hailey took a little longer to "come to" ...
But after we got them the $12.00 bucket of popcorn they were happy again...
(the bucket came with free refills... SO WORTH IT!)
The show started and Hailey was screaming out all the Disney Princess Names as they skated out...
Belle, Jasmine, Cinderella, Ariel, Tinkerbell... She was LOVING THE SHOW.
THEN the scary characters came out, and she ran over to mommy...
At intermission we grabbed a Tinkerbell Snow Cone for all of us to share...
It was a nice little break, and then the kids were ready to go back for more!!
But when Mickey appeared again BOTH kids were very excited!
Landon was going NUTS when the Toy Story Characters came out!! It was GREAT!!
And this was our LAME attempt to get a family picture with the kids after the show...
 Landon and Daddy
Hailey and Mommy
It was a GREAT time had by ALL!!

So to SUM up the experience...

4 Tickets .... $60.00
1 Parking Pass .... $7.00
1 Popcorn Bucket .... $12.00
1 Snow Cone to share .... $12.00
THE PURE JOY EXPRESSIONS ON MY KIDS FACE'S .... PRICELESS!!
